PRINCETON – The Mendota Spikers saw their season come to an abrupt end after losing to Kewanee 23-25, 25-19, 18-25 in the opening round of the Princeton Class 2A Regional on Oct. 28. MHS closed out the campaign with a 21-13-2 record.
Leading the Spikers were Ella Massey with 26 assists, 18 digs and three blocks, and Amellia Bromenschenkel with 10 kills, 11 digs and six blocks. Jenna O’Donnell supplied 22 digs and Jaelyn Fitzgerald had six kills and three blocks, while Anna Bokus and Teghan Tillman had five kills apiece.
In the other quarterfinal match, Princeton topped Hall, 25-14, 25-23.
