PAW PAW - Kerry Moorehead, 73, of Paw Paw, passed away March 22, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30 at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church, 370 Wiley Ave. with Pastor Glen Stewart officiating. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Wyoming Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 29 at the church.

Kerry was born April 1, 1945 in Sandwich to Richard and Earlene (Horn) Moorehead. He married Becky Collings on May 24, 1980 at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Erin (Robert) Odle, Gavin (Desha Freely) Moorehead and Ryan (Kristen) Moorehead; three grandchildren, Lucas Odle, Bethany Odle and Olivia Moorehead; two siblings, Georgia (Bob) Verdonck and Bill (Sandy) Moorehead; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kerry graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1963. He attended Illinois State University until he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served from 1966-1968, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. After the Army, he sold Country Companies insurance in Joliet for three years. In 1973, he moved back to Paw Paw to help his father with Moorehead Oil and the Sunoco Station. He later worked for Paw Paw Schools as a custodian and maintenance person. He retired at the age of 70 but still drove a bus part time for the school.
