MALTA – Kishwaukee College’s Engineering, Math & Science Academy (EMSA) will hold an information session for the 2020-2021 academic year on Nov. 13 from 6:30-7 p.m. in the Conference Center Dining Room, room A1273 at the College. The information session is open to current high school sophomores and juniors and their parents/guardians.
EMSA offers high school students an early start on their college careers by taking college-level courses. Students must have completed pre-calculus and chemistry with a “B” grade or better to be considered eligible for the program.
“EMSA is a great opportunity for highly motivated students that are looking to get a head start on college,” says EMSA advisor and assistant professor of physics & engineering Alan Edgecombe. “Kish offers small class sizes and a great learning environment at an affordable cost.”
Students can earn up to 23 credit hours through EMSA, generally transferrable to 4-year public universities. EMSA students have transferred to some of the top schools in the country, including the University of Illinois, Purdue, Georgia Tech and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
The information session will overview the program, explain the application process and answer questions for students and parents/guardians. Application materials must be received by the College no later than Jan. 31, 2020 for consideration for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Attendants are encouraged to park in Lot A and enter through doors 16 and 17.
