SUBLETTE - June M. Stephenitch, 91, of Sublette died peacefully on Sept. 6, 2018 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sublette with Rev. Randy Fronek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Maytown. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are being handled by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy.

June was born June 30, 1927 in Maytown to George and Margaret (Kelly) Goy. She married Robert A. Stephenitch on June 29, 1946 in Maytown. He preceded her in death on Jan. 16, 1985.

Survivors include five children, Terry (Deb) Stephenitch, Charles (Karen) Stephenitch and Ronald Stephenitch, all of Dixon, and Dean (Sue) Stephenitch and Diane (Roger) Truckenbrod, both of Sublette; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Scott Stephenitch; three brothers Gilbert, Leroy and Donald Goy; and one sister, Loleta Mathesius.

June graduated from Amboy High School. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband all their life. She enjoyed life and all of her family and loved to cook and have family meals. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sublette and was a Eucharistic Minister, taking communion to the nursing homes and to shut-ins. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society in Maytown. She had a strong faith and loved going to daily Mass, twice a day if she could.
