XENIA - Jesse V. Brown, 81, of Xenia, formerly of Mendota, passed away Nov. 20, 2018 at Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 25 at the Hosselton-Meridith Funeral Home in Cisne. Visitation was for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date.
Jesse was born Jan. 15, 1937 in Orchardville to Curt and Blanche (Bright) Brown.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Brown; two daughters, Shirley Brown and Penny Barnes; one sister, Wilma Jacobs of Mendota; two grandchildren; and a special nephew, Bill Ellis of Mt. Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Jesse attended Mendota schools. He retired from Chrysler in Belvidere where he worked on the assembly line. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Coon Creek Ridge Riders of Rinard. He enjoyed hunting rabbits and squirrels and going fishing.
