COMPTON - James William Hamill, 39, of Compton passed away May 17, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 25 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home, 606 E. Arnold Road, Sandwich with Pastor Del Keilman officiating.
James was born April 25, 1978 in Aurora to Samuel John and Sandra Louise (Gregg) Hamill. He married Jennifer Morris on April 22, 2013 in Dixon.
Survivors include his wife, Jenny of Compton; his father, Sam; his step-mother, (Linda) of Phoenix, Ariz.; two children, Mikayla and Sabrina; five step-children, Kiah, Madison, Jason, Virginia and Sarah; one nephew, PFC Julian Hamill; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra; his grandparents; one brother, Michael Hamill; two uncles, Robert and Richard; and one cousin, Shelly.
James worked at Ryder Trucking Company in Rochelle. He enjoyed spending time with his children, watching TV, horror movies and cartoons. He loved just being home with his family.
