PERU - Parents who have children who could benefit from the services provided by Shriners’ Hospitals are invited to bring them to a free screening clinic scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27, from noon until 3 p.m. at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.
Dr. Robert Mitchell, an IVCH orthopedic surgeon, will staff the clinic.
Shriners’ Hospitals provide treatment for children up to the age 18 who have orthopedic problems, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, and burns.
“Children eligible for care at a Shriners’ hospital receive all services in a family-centered environment regardless of the patient’s ability to pay,” said Bill Thomas, a spokesman for the Northern Illinois Valley Shrine Club of Peru, which is sponsoring the screening at IVCH.
