PERU - Area residents who want to learn if they are at risk for Type 2 diabetes can talk with a diabetes educator at Illinois Valley Community Hospital on IVCH Diabetes Alert Day, Thursday, April 5.
No appointment is needed for this free screening. Diabetes educators will be available from 8 until 11 a.m. in the Special Procedures Conference room near the IVCH West Street entrance. Participants will be asked to take a brief written test prior to talking with one of the hospital’s diabetes educators.
Hemoglobin A1c testing will be available for a fee.
