OGLESBY - Illinois Valley Community College’s office of Disability Services, Phi Theta Kappa, Psychology Club, Human Services Organization and Diversity Team will host “Hope Begins With You: A Talk About Suicide Prevention” from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24 in CTC124.
Certified suicide prevention trainer Jeff Morris will lead the discussion. Participants will learn how to deal with stress and anxiety in a positive way, the warning signs exhibited by a suicidal person, common myths associated with suicide, what to say to a suicidal person and how anyone may save a suicidal person’s life.
