PERU - The Illinois Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development (IVAC) will hold their next Business Breakfast Seminar on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 7:15 a.m. at Mario’s Maples in Peru. The focus of the seminar will be “401K Compliance Issues.”
Do not wait for an audit from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to solve your plan’s operational problems. Sponsors should regularly conduct self-reviews of their plan’s operations to fix - or prevent - problems. Many plan sponsors who have inadvertently made mistakes in their 401(k) plans never had anyone show them correct administration of a 401(k) or were so busy that something inevitably fell through the cracks.
Speaker Steven Witek of LPL Financial will discuss the Importance of Retirement Planning, Employer Sponsored Retirement Plan Options, DOL Fiduciary Rule Update, 401K Plan Compliance Issues, 2017 Review and 2018: A Look Ahead.
Witek, a Certified Financial Planner and Investment Advisor with LPL Financial, has over 30 years experience in the investment industry. He provides comprehensive financial planning services to both business and individual clients. Investments, insurance, taxation, retirement planning, and estate planning are some of the main areas in which he works. From an investment standpoint, he focuses on asset allocation, utilizing a wide range of investment products including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, REITs, ETFs and managed accounts. Periodic reviews are an essential component of his practice.
Registration for the seminar is $16 for members and $18 for non-members. A hot breakfast buffet will be provided at 7:15 a.m. Reservations must be made by calling (815) 223-0227 no later than noon on Tuesday, Dec. 12. The breakfast is open to the public.
