PERU - The Illinois Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development (IVAC) will hold a Business Breakfast Seminar at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11 at Mario’s Maples in Peru.

The focus of the seminar will be E-Commerce and Online Marketing presented by Brandee Bell and Stephanie Rawson of All Web Promotion.

Small businesses and entrepreneurs are rushing to the Internet to do business and reach new markets. While e-commerce is used for advertising, business-to-consumer and business-to-business transactions, users may encounter several challenges including cost. But with prices for software and hosting services going down, now even the smallest of businesses can have a presence on the web and conduct commerce.

Selling online is not without its perils, however. Blindly diving headfirst into the Internet without a complete understanding of technical, managerial and competitive challenges may result in stressed operations. This seminar will examine both the opportunities and challenges that are posed by the use of e-commerce and make recommendations to small businesses and entrepreneurs so they can overcome the challenges and exploit the opportunities.

A hot breakfast buffet will be served beginning at 7:15 a.m. and the program starts promptly at 7:30 a.m. Reservations must be made by calling (815) 223-0227 no later than noon on Tuesday, April 10. The breakfast is open to the public.
