PRINCETON - Irene Ida Mealey, 103, of Princeton, formerly of Mendota, passed away March 15, 2018 at Manor Court Princeton.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 24 at St. John’s Te Deum Chapel, Mendota with Rev. Kim Lee-Brown officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Garden Cemetery, Mendota. Pallbearers will be Mike and Andrew Kazacoff, Tony Lusietto, Chad Mealey, Marla Mealey and Andrew Wiesbrock. Schwarz Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Irene was born Oct. 7, 1914 in Clarion Township, Bureau County to Edward and Martha (Ehlers) Grosch. She married Paul Mealey on July 18, 1931 in Mendota. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1973.
Survivors include six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and her Mendota family, Bill and Edith Silfies and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Robert Mealey and Duane Mealey; one daughter, Patricia Cotton; and two brothers, Paul Grosch and Harold Grosch.
During her work career Irene was employed by Wayside Press. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mendota.
