October has arrived bringing the official start of fall. Did you know that the odds of hitting a deer while driving more than doubles during October, November and December when deer collisions are most prevalent?
For the 16th year, State Farm has produced their annual deer collision report showing some compelling numbers of interest for Illinois:
Nationally, your odds of needing to file an insurance claim from hitting a deer, elk or moose went down slightly compared to last year’s estimates. Drivers across the country have a 1 in 167 chance, but that likelihood more than doubles during October, November and December when collisions with those animals are most prevalent.
