Two Holy Cross School track athletes competed at the IESA State Track Meet at East Peoria the weekend of May 13. Paige Manning, left, qualified for the semifinals of the 100-meter hurdles and finished 14th overall, running a time of 17.87 seconds, breaking the school record. Teghan Tillman, right, finished 19th overall in both the 100-meter dash and the long jump. In long jump she jumped 14-10, breaking the school record. In total, there were eight school records set by Holy Cross athletes this season. They included Tillman in the high jump, long jump and 200-meter dash; Manning in the 100-meter hurdles and shot put; Alyssa Engels in the 800- and 1600-meter runs; and the 4x400-meter relay team of Marly Tillman, Jaelyn Weber, Emily Stewart and Engels.
