MENDOTA – OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center will offer a Hemoglobin A1c, along with a Wellness (cholesterol) Screening at the hospital on Feb. 22 from 6–11 a.m. and again from 4–6 p.m. by appointment. The screenings will take place in Conference Room D (located by the Medical Office building door)
What is an A1c screening? It is a blood test that requires no fasting and will show a person’s average blood sugar over the last three months. The cost of the A1c screening is $20/person and payable the day of testing. The results, available within 10 minutes, are evaluated by a Certified Diabetes Educator.
Patients may also have their cholesterol measured for $35 per person, however a 12-14 hour fast is required for this screening. Cholesterol results will include total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglyceride levels, glucose and individual cardiac risk ratio. Results will be available immediately and will be interpreted before you leave. Information and recommendations are given out to each individual participating.
Call (815) 539-1411 weekdays to schedule an appointment.
