MENDOTA -Memorial services for Helen L. Jackson, 101, of Mendota who passed away Oct. 28, 2019 at Heritage Health, Mendota, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Steve Mindrup officiating.
Helen was born May 30, 1918 in Hannibal, Mo. to Roger and Dorothy (Atkins) Sidener. She married Zachary G. Jackson on Jan. 18, 1946 in Westfield, N.J. He preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1967.
Survivors include one son, John (Kathi) Jackson of Mendota; one brother, Roger D. (Sue) Sidener of San Angelo, Texas; one sister, Sondra Hotchkiss of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Jackson of Sycamore, Scott (Sasha) Jackson of LaSalle and Julie Jackson of Mendota; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Dale Jackson on April 26, 2001.
Helen was a farm wife and later moved to Columbia, Mo. where she became head cashier at the Veteran’s Hospital. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
