SPRING VALLEY - The weather is turning colder but one sure way to chase away those winter chills is with a bowl of soup. Nourishing, comforting and inexpensive, soup can use last night’s leftovers and be transformed into a healthy, delicious meal for tonight.
Learn how to garnish in order to heighten the flavor and make the dish something special to serve at U of I Extension’s Hearty Soups class on Wednesday, Dec. 6. The class will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library in Spring Valley.
Participants will try a recipe sample in class and take home a recipe book and also get new ideas to make soup at home for lunch or dinner. To register, please call University of Illinois Extension at (815) 224-0889 by Dec. 4.
The Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library is located at 215 E. Cleveland St., Spring Valley.
