LADD – Harry P. Lehning, 85, of Ladd, died April 12, 2018, at Mendota Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be at noon on Tuesday, April 17 at the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd with the Rev. Mike Slutz, pastor of Hollowayville Church of Christ, officiating. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Biggsville Cemetery in Biggsville.
Harry was born on March 14, 1933, in Chicago, to Philip and Esther (Lemke) Lehning. He married Ellen “Jane” Price on June 20, 1955.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Kathy Lorenzi of Ladd and Ellen Lehning of Jamestown, N.Y.; one son, Mike (Traci) Lehning of Bourbonnais; two grandchildren, Nicole and Marcus Lehning; and one sister, Phyllis Jelenick of Lowell, Ind.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Lehning.
Harry served with the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a retired teacher and coach at Buda-Western, Hall and Mendota high schools.
He was a member of the Mendota Elks Lodge and a long-time member of the Mendota Golf Club and Indian Hills Golf Course. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
