OREGON – Seven teams competed against each other in a cross country meet at Oregon on Sept. 27.
The girls’ race was won by North Boone harrier Irais Tenoria in a time of 21:30. Oregon's Leah Watters was second in 21:41, while Anna Ruiz-Serrano of Rockford Lutheran was third in 21:50.
Mendota's top time belonged to Lily Linden, who finished in 27th with a time of 25:51. Other Mendota times included Gabi Brown (27:24, 31st), Bonnie Hall (28:18, 40th) and Piper Artman (28:23, 41st)
Oregon topped the team results with 37 points, followed by North Boone (59), Durand-Pecatonica (60) and West Carroll (70).
In the boys' race, Ian Hussung of Oregon led the field with a time of 17:27, followed by Blake Walters of North Boone (17:47) and Brian Nevills of West Carroll (18:24). Mendota finishers were Rigo Hermosillo (21:53, 31st) and Ty Connelly (23:54, 40th).
In a tight set of team scores, North Boone (45) prevailed, followed by Oregon (46), Rockford Lutheran (50), Durand-Pecatonica (103) and West Carroll (117).
