MAYTOWN - The sewing group from St. Patrick’s Parish of Maytown recently met with Debbie Ward and Joyce Peterson, representatives from Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, to donate clothing for their Christmas program.
Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child had requested donations of dresses and shorts for the Christmas boxes, which are sent to children in need around the world. The Maytown sewing group was able to donate 50 dresses and 37 pairs of shorts at this time.
St. Patrick’s sewing group meets weekly at the parish hall for sewing and fellowship. Since being established in 2011, the group with the help of others has made 5,600 dresses and hundreds of shorts. Please feel free to contact Marilyn Weeks at (815) 638-2202 for more information.
