Graves-Hume Public Library offers free craft projects for kids

MENDOTA - Graves-Hume Public Library is now branching out in a new direction. Due to the inability to host in-person programs for youth at this time, the library staff has put together crafts for children, which may be picked up at your leisure.

Each month, there will be an age-appropriate craft project for several different age groups, the same as if the library was still hosting in-person activities. The library will offer a craft for the following groups: Shake Rattle & Read (birth-2 years old), Small Fries (3 years old-Kindergarten), Grades 1-4 and Grades 5-8. These crafts are free and come with all or most all of the items needed to complete the craft. Everyone is welcome to take part; a library card is not required.

Carolynn Ohlendorf, Children Services Manager, looks forward to providing these activities for children. “Even though we are unable to host programs in person, we really wanted to still provide some fun crafts for all our littlest patrons,” she said. “I truly miss seeing all my little friends, and I can’t wait until we can all meet again.”

Craft projects for all youth age groups will be available each month from September through December. Anyone wishing to get a free craft for their child should simply stop in at the Graves Hume Public Library to pick it up. There is no need to register.
