Grace was born May 21, 1929 in Mendota to Louis and Ella Larson. She married Alan V. Blotch of Mendota in 1950 and they spent their 68 years together in Aurora and Batavia.
Survivors include her loving husband; two children, Alan T. Blotch (Laura) and Jenifer Fernandes; three grandchildren, Jacqueline, Gregory and Michael; two sisters, Greta and Elaine; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Marianne and one sister, Ellen.
Grace lived her early life in Mendota where she attended local schools and then graduated from Illinois State University. She taught elementary school in North Aurora. As her family grew, she was a very active volunteer, especially at her children’s schools. Forty years ago, she began her love of quilting, usually using original designs with an emphasis on the beauty of nature. She and Alan also shared an interest in and supported the Batavia Museum, the Batavia Riverwalk, the Clock Club, and the Garden Club.
Memorial contributions in Grace’s memory may be directed to Susan G. Komen to help end breast cancer.
