GENOA – The Mendota Lady Trojans took third place out of four teams in a track meet at Genoa-Kingston on April 4. Richmond-Burton ran away with the top spot with 107 points, while Genoa-Kingston was second with 82 points. Mendota scored 48 points and North Boone tallied 20.

Mari Biers was Mendota’s lone individual first-place finisher as she was clocked in 50.45 in the 300-meter low hurdles.

The Lady Trojans also had the top 800-meter relay team in the meet with a time of 2:02.63. Runners for Mendota were Emma Foley, Abby Motter, Kylee Zinke and Lydia Willis.

Mendota 1st place: Mari Biers, 300m hurdles, 50.45; 800m relay (Emma Foley, Abby Motter, Kylee Zinke, Lydia Willis), 2:02.63

Mendota 2nd place: Willis, shot put, 31-7.5; Willis, discus, 101-6.5; Lauren Schimmer, high jump, 4-6; 400m relay (Biers, Zinke, Foley, Motter), 55.87; Biers, 100m hurdles, 17.6

Mendota 3rd place: Gabrielle Brown, 800m run, 3:28.48; Phalen Hessenberger, 200m dash, 30.59

Mendota 4th place: Biers, long jump, 14-7; Foley, 100m dash, 14.46; Motter, 200m dash, 30.59

Mendota 5th place: Motter, 100m dash, 14.49; Zinke, 200m dash, 31.49

Mendota 6th place: Hessenberger, long jump, 14-2
