PRINCETON – The Bureau County Genealogical Society will welcome Carol Chandler of Dixon as the featured speaker on Thursday, July 26.
The public is invited to attend this free program beginning at 7 p.m. at the Society library at 629 S. Main Street in Princeton.
Her topic will perhaps be a new realization to many who might not know that German POW soldiers were confined in Illinois.
Chandler is a retired hospital nurse who likes to do historical research, write, and speak. She is the author of The Orphan Trains, published in 2010.
The BCGS library is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, the first Saturday of each month and by special arrangement at other times for those who are not able to visit during the regular working hours. For more information, call (815) 879-3133.
