PRINCETON – The Bureau County Genealogical Society host Maureen Brady at the Thursday, Oct. 25 meeting at the Society library at 629 South Main Street in Princeton. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Reservations are not needed.
Brady is a former school librarian and computer educator. She has more than 30 years of genealogical research experience. She has given numerous presentations to Illinois and Wisconsin genealogical societies, libraries, conferences, and workshops. She holds membership in several genealogical organizations. For this meeting she will be speaking on the topic: Tapping the Power of Family Search.
Family Search is a free website sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This site provides researchers with access to images of original historical records from around the world, indices linked directly to many of those records, instructional videos, and much more. She will take those attending the meeting on a tour of the website and offer research strategies for locating historical records of personal family value.
