Gehant Bank has 10 years of 5-star ratings

Posted

WEST BROOKLYN - Gehant Bank in West Brooklyn has again earned BauerFinancial’s highest rating, 5-Star Superior. The five-star rating indicates the bank excels in areas of capital adequacy, profitability, asset quality and much more.

Earning and maintaining Bauer’s highest rating for the most recent 56 consecutive quarters, Gehant Bank has also procured an “Exceptional Performance Bank” status. This designation is reserved for institutions that have maintained Bauer’s highest rating for 10 years or longer.

Like Bauer, regulators agree that smaller institutions “are often better positioned than larger institutions to understand and quantify local real estate market values since they serve a smaller, more defined market area,” as stated in the Federal Register on June 9.

“It makes sense that local people who know the area are making decisions based on that knowledge,” said Karen L. Dorway, president of BauerFinancial. “Community banks such as Gehant Bank are banking on a better future together with their community.”

Established in 1897, Gehant Bank has been investing in the future of its community for 121 years. Today, it operates through two conveniently located branch offices in Triumph and West Brooklyn and can be found online at www.gehantbank.com. Gehant Bank is a member of the FDIC and an Equal Housing Lender.

No institution can pay for or opt out of a BauerFinancial rating. Consumers may view star ratings at no cost by visiting www.bauerfinancial.com.
