LA SALLE – Have a temporary need for a wheelchair, walker, cane or other equipment? The Illinois Valley Center for Independent Living in LaSalle may be able to help.

IVCIL has a variety of equipment available that can be loaned to area residents. There is no cost to borrow this equipment, however, some equipment with a value over $100 requires a $100 cash security deposit. The deposit will be reimbursed upon return if equipment does not show damage and/or wear and tear but it must be brought in periodically to be inspected by IVCIL staff.

The community is welcome to call IVCIL for more information about borrowing equipment free of charge. Please note, some equipment can be loaned only for a specified time period, which will be determined at the time it is loaned. Please call (815) 224-3126 (V or TTY) Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. to inquire if the equipment you need is available.

To assist IVCIL with this program, donations of used equipment that is clean and useable such as walkers, canes, commodes and wheelchairs are appreciated.

IVCIL, located at 18 Gunia Drive, LaSalle, is a non-profit agency that assists people with disabilities to live independently in the communities of Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam and Stark counties.
