OTTAWA – Working to improve the health and wellbeing of area residents, State Rep. Lance Yednock will offer free Community Health Fairs with OSF Healthcare St. Elizabeth to provide various services and screenings to area residents.
The next Health Fair will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Jordan Block in Ottawa during their Scarecrow Festival. A second event will take place in Streator in October.
“I am fighting to make health care more accessible for my community, and I am honored to be working with community leaders to offer critical services,” Yednock said. “It seems that health care costs are always rising, so I cannot stress enough for residents to participate in my upcoming fairs.”
Yednock will work with OSF Healthcare St. Elizabeth to offer the Health Fairs, which will include access to blood pressure screenings, insight on best practices for healthy living and a host of activities for local families.
“Nobody should take their health for granted when various activities and screenings are at no cost to them,” Yednock said. “A regular checkup will better prepare people for their short and long-term health care needs.”
