LA MOILLE - Fred H. King, 81, of LaMoille, formerly of Bloomington, passed away June 19, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 22 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, 1115 E. Washington St., Bloomington with Pastor Daniel Rose officiating. Burial will be at East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on June 22 at the memorial home.

Fred was born Jan. 21, 1936 in Money Creek Township, near Lexington, to George L. and Jessie Fern Diveley King. He married Barbara Hanson. He later married Cynthia “Colleen” Burks on June 25, 1988 in Republic, Mo.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen of LaMoille; his seven children, Linda (Larry) Lance of Duncan, Okla., Karen Chow of Freeport, Michael (Patti) King of Lakeland, Fla., Theresa “Teri” (Greg) Lehew of Centennial, Colo., Bruce (Monteen) King of Brenham, Texas, Jeff (Amy) King of Houston, Texas and Mark (Mercedes) King of Mundelein; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his mother in-law, Alicia Burks of Marionville, Mo.; one brother in-law, Bill Smith of Normal; and one sister in-law, Barbara King of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, five sisters and one son in-law, Joe Chow.

Fred was a retired truck driver for Consolidated Freight Peru. He was a member of the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star, all of LaMoille. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
