MENDOTA - Frank “Dale” Epps, 92, formerly of Mendota died June 25, 2020 at Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas, Texas after a brief illness.
Cremation rights have been accorded. Interment will be in the family cemetery in southern Illinois at a later date.
Dale was born Feb. 9, 1928 in Collinsville. He married Louise Meyers on Sept. 26, 1952 in Collinsville.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years; three daughters, Pam (Mike) Rumsey, Bendy (Louie) Schuler, and Connie Skilling; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Tena Davis in 2003.
Dale served in the Naval Reserves from 1948 to 1957. He and Louise moved to Mendota in 1955 where he worked at Farm Supply. Later, he was self-employed as an electrician and worked at both Sundstrand and the Peru Mall before retiring in 1990. He was a volunteer for many years with the Mendota Fire Department and Civil Defense.
Memorials in Dale’s name may be made to the Mendota Area Christian Food Pantry.
