Rev. Mary and Andrew Bohall

MENDOTA - During Sunday Worship on July 1, First United Methodist Church of Mendota will welcome a new pastor, Rev. Mary Bohall, and her husband, Andrew, to the church and to the community of Mendota.

Pastor Mary studied at Wheaton College, where she earned her B.A. in Psychology and in Biblical & Theological Studies. She moved to Durham, N.C. and later attended Duke Divinity School. While studying, she worked with rural and inner-city congregations and served a brief stint as a hospital chaplain. She developed a passion for theology, spiritual discipleship, mission, lay empowerment, and church history.

Rev. Mary was ordained in June of 2016 and in October of that year, she and Andrew were married. They will be joined in Mendota by their dog, Tucker and their two cats, Sesame and Stella.

Everyone is welcome to join the congregation on July 1 and on Sundays thereafter to meet Rev. Mary and Andrew. Summer worship begins at 9 a.m. and is followed by Coffee & Conversation in the church’s Welker Hall.

Rev. Mary said her prayer is that her time in Mendota will be “a fruitful and grace-filled season of ministry for all.” Her office hours at First UMC will be from 8 a.m. until noon, Monday through Thursday.
