MENDOTA – Cameron Schumacher and Paxton Kennedy, 2016 graduates of Mendota High School, are each recipients of a $2,000 scholarship from First State Bank.
Schumacher and Kennedy were chosen from applicants who submitted packets containing selection criteria that included an essay, grade point averages, ACT scores, civic/extracurricular activities and personal references.
Schumacher will attend IVCC and then transfer to Bradley University to major in psychology. Kennedy will attend IVCC and major in business management.
First State Bank, a Community Bank, whose headquarters is in Mendota, has 20 branches in North Central Illinois.
