F-S Trojans blanked by Orion

ORION – The Mendota freshman-sophomore football team fell to Orion, 21-0, on Sept. 4 at Orion.

The Chargers did all of their scoring in the first half. They found the end zone on a 7-yard pass in the first quarter, and a 15-yard pass and a 17-yard run in the second period.

Mendota (0-2) gained 127 yards in the contest but was not able to record a touchdown. Javier Hernandez ran for 67 yards on 20 carries and Jayden Lesley picked up 41 yards in 14 totes.

Hernandez threw for 16 yards with Cam Wasmer (12 yards) and Lesley (4 yards) hauling in the receptions.

Orion finished with 167 total yards – 87 on the ground and 80 in the air.
