MENDOTA – Oregon pulled away in the second half to topple Mendota, 36-20, in freshman-sophomore girls’ basketball action on Feb. 24 at the MHS gym.
The Lady Trojans were down 10-3 after the opening stanza, but closed the gap in the second period and trailed by just three (15-12) at intermission. Then in the third quarter, Oregon outscored Mendota, 13-5, to grab a double-digit lead.
Emily Stewart dropped in 13 points to lead the Lady Trojans, while Katie Jenner added six markers.

Mendota mounted a second-half comeback, but it wasn’t enough in falling to Stillman Valley, 32-25, on March 1 at the MHS gym.
The Lady Trojans put up just five points in the first half and were down 18-5 at the break, but they outscored Stillman Valley, 13-5, in the third frame to climb back to within five points with one quarter left to play. Mendota could not complete the rally in the fourth.
Garcia led the scoring column for the Lady Trojans with nine points, all in the second half, while Jenner supplied eight tallies.
