Extension to hold private pesticide applicator training & testing

LA SALLE - University of Illinois Extension – Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam Unit has scheduled a training and testing program for private pesticide applicators. Certification is required to apply restricted use pesticides. The sessions are in cooperation with the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Pre-registration is required for both training and testing-only sessions.

The training and testing will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at Celebrations 150 Ltd., 740 E. U.S. Highway 6 (between LaSalle and Utica). Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the training will be conducted from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $40 for the training (does not include the IDOA license fee). Testing will begin immediately after the training at 11:45 a.m. and will end at 2 p.m. Participants may bring their lunch.

Private Applicator manuals and workbooks can be purchased online or at local extension offices. Extension offices are located in Princeton, Ottawa, Henry and Oglesby (IVCC campus).
