MENDOTA - University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener volunteer Natalie Martin will present a virtual presentation titled “Preparing Your Garden for Winter” on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. The session will be hosted by the McNabb Public Library.

Now that the weather is getting colder, there are some steps to get your garden ready for winter and jumpstarted for spring. Martin will walk participants through steps they can take to prepare their garden, yard and landscaping for the winter season. Topics covered will include cleanup, landscaping, and preparing plants. At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to ask questions via live-chat.

This program is free, open to the public, and will be presented in an easy-to-use virtual format. Interested individuals should e-mail Peggy Smith at the McNabb Public Library at psmith@putnamcountylibrary.org for information or visit their web page at https://putnamcountylibrary.org/ to access the Zoom link. Questions may also be directed to Meg E. Overocker, University of Illinois Extension Program Coordinator, at meo@illinois.edu or call the LaSalle County office at (815) 433-0707.
