LA SALLE - University of Illinois Extension invites all youth, ages 8-18, to a pie crust workshop on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 9-11:30 a.m. This workshop is perfect for youth who want to learn how to bake pies from scratch and what a better time to learn that skill than right before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Susan Glassman, Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator, and Beth Dellatori, 4-H Youth Development Educator, will teach participants about basic measuring skills, using a rolling pin to roll out the dough, forming the crust in the pie plate, and cooking the crust to perfection. Attendees will also learn more about 4-H, complete a fun craft, receive pie recipes to take home, and enjoy a snack (most likely pie).

The workshop will take place at the University of Illinois Extension Education Center & Community Teaching Kitchen, 944 First St., LaSalle. The cost is free for all 4-H members and only $5 for non-4-H members. All youth are welcome to come and experience this hands-on learning opportunity and consider joining 4-H in their community.

Please go to https://go.illinois.edu/piecrust to register by Nov. 10. If possible, all participants are asked to bring a hair tie and/or a hat to wear in the kitchen.

Please register soon to participate in this fun event.
