St. Ambrose dean’s list

DAVENPORT, Iowa - St. Ambrose University has announced its dean’s list for the spring term. Local students receiving this honor include Katie Beetz, Kathryn McNally, and Annah Scholl of Mendota and Gillian Sondgeroth of Troy Grove.

The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the term.

Founded in 1882 by the Diocese of Davenport, St. Ambrose is a private, coeducational, comprehensive university with a firm grounding in the liberal arts, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association. Wartburg College graduation

WAVERLY, Iowa - Kimberly Schlesinger of Compton was among 276 Wartburg College students awarded diplomas during a virtual spring commencement on May 24. Schlesinger graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy (BM). She is the daughter of Jeff and Theresa Schlesinger.

Wartburg, a four-year liberal arts college internationally recognized for community engagement, enrolls 1,505 students and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

UW-Platteville dean’s list

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Two local students, Lucas Anderson of Mendota and Marie Barnickel of Compton, have been named to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville spring semester dean’s list. Anderson is majoring in mechanical engineering and Barnickel is an agricultural business major.

Students earned the high honors while making a quick transition from in-person classes to alternative delivery in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To be included on the dean’s list, the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture and the College of Liberal Arts and Education require grade-point averages of 3.75 and above, while the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science requires students to reach at least a 3.50.
