Loyola dean’s list

CHICAGO - Molli Wixom of Mendota has been named to the College of Arts and Sciences dean’s list for the spring semester at Loyola University Chicago.

Loyola, a Jesuit Catholic university located in the heart of Chicago, is guided by the promise to prepare people to lead extraordinary lives.

Olivet dean’s list

BOURBONNAIS - Cordell May of Mendota was named to the dean’s list at Olivet Nazarene University for the spring 2018 semester.

To qualify for inclusion on the dean’s list, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.

Olivet is an accredited Christian, liberal arts university.

UIS graduation

SPRINGFIELD - Local residents, Jonathan Tielebein of Mendota and Joseph Bacidore of LaMoille, were among 1,520 students who earned degrees from the University of Illinois Springfield on May 12.

Tielebein majored in computer science and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. Bacidore, a mathematical sciences major, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

DeKALB - Northern Illinois University students who graduated this spring received their degrees on May 12. Local NIU graduates include:

NIU dean’s list

DeKALB - Northern Illinois University has announced its spring 2018 dean’s list students. To earn this distinction, students must meet a minimum semester grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology or a minimum of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale in the colleges of Business, Education, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Visual and Performing Arts.

Local students include:

SIU dean’s list

CARBONDALE - The Southern Illinois University Carbondale spring deans’ lists have been released. Mendota students receiving this recognition include Rolando Camarillo, Lizbeth De Los Reyes, Enedina Hermosillo, Paige Simonton (4.0) and Jared Wiley.

SIU holds graduation

CARBONDALE - Southern Illinois University Carbondale has announced the names of their spring 2018 degree candidates. Local graduating students include Lizbeth De Los Reyes, AAS Radiologic Sciences, and Jared Wiley, BS Human Nutrition and Dietetics, both of Mendota; and Joseph Wojcik, BS Journalism, of Ohio.

SIU’s commencement was held on May 12.
