St. Ambrose holds winter commencement

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Blake Pohl of Mendota earned a degree in Finance Management during St. Ambrose University’s 2017 Winter Commencement ceremony on Dec. 16.

The event was held at the RiverCenter, 136 East Third St., Davenport. A total of 272 degrees were conferred, including 152 bachelor’s degrees, 83 master’s degrees and 37 doctoral degrees.

Mary Heinzman, executive director of information resources, gave the 2017 Winter Commencement address.

Collins named Distinguished Scholar at Rockford Univ.

ROCKFORD - Alexandra Collins of Earlville has been announced as a Distinguished Scholar at Rockford University for the fall 2017 semester.

To be eligible, full-time students at Rockford University must earn at least a 3.75 GPA with no grades below "C" and complete all requirements for the semester.

Rockford University is a private four-year, co-educational institution founded in 1847 offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in traditional liberal arts and professional fields. 

ICC dean’s list

EAST PEORIA - Marissa Morales of Mendota has been named to the dean’s list at Illinois Central College for the fall 2017 semester. The academic honor is presented to students who earn a 3.5 to 3.99 grade point average on a 4.0 grading scale.
