Carthage College dean’s list
KENOSHA, Wis. - Carthage College has named Elizabeth Willis of Mendota to its dean’s list for academic excellence during the fall 2018 semester.
Dean’s list honors are accorded to Carthage students who achieve a minimum 3.5 grade-point average while carrying at least 14 credit hours during a semester.
Carthage combines an environment of reflection and self-discovery with a culture of high expectation so our students uncover and ignite their true potential. A four-year, private liberal arts college with roots in the Lutheran tradition, Carthage has a prime location in Kenosha on the shore of Lake Michigan and is home to 150 scholars, 2,600 full-time students and 400 part-time students.
St. Mary’s College dean’s list
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Whitney Lewis of Mendota has been named to the Saint Mary’s College dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester.
To earn this academic honor at Saint Mary’s, a student must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale, have a minimum of 12 graded credit hours, no incompletes and no grades lower than a C.

Earlville student attends agronomy conference
AMES, Iowa - Jenna Cowan of Earlville joined members of the Agronomy Club at Iowa State University to attend the American Society of Agronomy (ASA) conference, the undergraduate part of Students of Agronomy, Soils, and Environmental Studies (SASES) in Baltimore, Md. From Nov. 4-7, 2018.
Highlights of the conference always include elected national officers, Quiz Bowl and crops competitions, research posters, and scholar announcements. Cowan participated on an Iowa State team in the crops contest.
In addition to the student conference activities, attendees took advantage of networking opportunities, a career center, workshops and tours.
