EARLVILLE – The Illinois High School Association’s March Madness has cooled down and state champions have been recognized in all four classes for both boys and girls. COUNTRY Financial is proud to sponsor high school teams and athletes throughout the year, including the IHSA State Tournaments for the last 42 years. In addition, COUNTRY has served as the sole sponsor of the IHSA Three Point Showdown since it began in 1992.

COUNTRY Financial representative Joan Walker recently recognized Earlville High School’s Landon Larkin for his participation as a finalist in the 2019 Three Point Showdown. Larkin finished in fifth place at the Peoria Civic Center on March 7. Walker presented Larkin with a keepsake basketball at his school. The recognition is extra special for Walker, who works with Larkin’s family to ensure they can protect what they have, save for a comfortable future and achieve financial security.

“My relationships with my client families are truly special and inspiring,” said Walker. “For many clients, I meet their children shortly after birth and help their parents have peace of mind with insurance and financial services as they grow. To see them as teenagers and recognize their success at an event like the Three Point Showdown is rewarding for me, their family and our community.”

The Three Point Showdown competition begins at the regional level with 256 participants in each class and there are four IHSA classes to total 1,024 students. The accomplishment of making it to the state preliminary round signifies the shooter is one of the top 32 shooters in their respective class.
