UTICA – Join knowledgeable staff and park volunteers for a guided hike at Starved Rock State Park to spot bald eagles along the Illinois River. Spotting scopes will be set up at the top of Starved Rock for public viewing of eagles on Plum and Leopold Islands in the river.
Hikes leave the Starved Rock Visitor Center at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26 and Sunday, Jan. 27. Hikes to choose from include: Starved Rock and French Canyon (3/4 mile), Eagle Cliff and Lovers Leap Overlooks (1.4 miles roundtrip), and Wildcat Canyon with overlooks (2 miles roundtrip).
