OTTAWA - LaSalle County will hold a free electronics recycling event on Saturday, Aug. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon. The event will be held at the LaSalle County Government Center, 707 E. Etna Road, Ottawa. Pre-registration is required at https://lasallecounty.as.me/ (preferred method) or phone (815) 630-4308 weekdays 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday 8 a.m.-noon.
This event is limited to LaSalle County residents only and is not open to businesses. There is a limit of two televisions per vehicle. Oversized loads may be refused.
ACCEPTED items include:
Televisions and Monitors (all types), Computers and parts (laptop, notebook, netbook, tablet, desktop), DVD/VHS Players, Video Game Consoles, Computer Servers, Cable and Satellite Receivers, Cameras, Cash Registers and Credit Card Readers, Cell Phones and Accessories, Chargers, Circuit Boards, Copiers/Printers/Scanners/Fax/Typewriters, External Drives, Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals, Ink and Toner Cartridges, Mice and Keyboards, Microwaves, MP3/iPods/etc., Networking Equipment (modems, switches, routers, hubs), Phones and Telecom equipment, Projectors, Rechargeable Batteries (Lithium Ion, Ni-Cd, Lead Acid, Ni-Mh), Stereos/Radios/Speakers, Uninterrupted Power Supplies, Wire Cables and Christmas Lights.
NOT ACCEPTED items include:
Loose alkaline batteries (unless inside electronic device), liquid containing items, Freon containing items (A/C units, dehumidifiers), refrigerators, freezers, thermostats, light bulbs.
