Drivers reminded to watch for school buses

OTTAWA – School is back in session and Christopher Dvorak, Regional Superintendent of Schools, is again emphasizing the importance of knowing and obeying school bus laws. Drivers should know that the flashing amber lights are a warning the bus is going to stop, and the flashing red lights and extended stop arm mean the bus has stopped to load or unload children.

Illinois drivers are required by state law to obey these signals. Dvorak asks everyone to please help protect the children who ride our school buses by obeying the law.
