MENDOTA - Dorothy H. Cole, 92, of Mendota died July 10, 2017 at the Mendota Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, July 13 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Kent Terry officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services July 13 at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born Oct. 9, 1924 in Mendota to Ralph and Hazel (Reisinger) Richard. She married Edward Cole on Nov. 22, 1941 in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 2003.
Survivors include four sons, Edward (Mary Beth) Cole, Donald (Martha) Cole, Steven (Julie) Cole and David (Dunreeth) Cole; four daughters, Juanita (Ken) Pfarr, Marta Cole, Deborah (Dale) Hagemann and Mary Ellen (Joe) Young; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Sylvia; two sons, Jeffrey and John; one great-grandchild; and one sister.
Dorothy was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Mendota and later attended First United Methodist Church. She was employed by Hart-Carter in Mendota and was president of the UAW Union at the plant.
