PAW PAW - Donna Jean Delay, 81, of Paw Paw went to be with the Lord while at home on Aug. 31, 2019 after a courageous battle with sarcoidosis.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5 at Paw Paw Bible Church, 412 Seventh St., Paw Paw with Pastor Jed Cary officiating. Cremation care will be provided after the funeral services. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at the church.
Donna was born Nov. 22, 1937 in Cambridge City, Ind. to Wayne and Hilda (Usher) Stephens. She married Ronald Delay on Dec. 31, 1957 in Westwood, Ind.
Survivors include her husband, Ron; four children, Greg Delay of Earlville, Chris (Diane) Delay of Sugar Land, Texas, Penny (Tim) Slaughterback of Springfield, and Joetta (Jeff Svendsen) Delay of West Brooklyn; eight grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Slaughterback of Franklin, Matthew (Janet) Delay of La Porte, Texas, Kevin (Ariel) Raymer of Rockford, Kyle (Stacy) Raymer of Fort Huachuca, Ariz., Jordan (Erin) Delay of Richmond, Texas, Alicia Slaughterback of Chatham, Brittney Raymer of Liberty Township, Ohio and Alexis (Jordan Hendren) Raymer of Casper, Wy.; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ronald Stephens; and one sister, Viola Watson.
Donna was a homemaker and worked 20 years at Walmart. She loved reading books, sewing, camping and spending time with family. She and Ron always enjoyed a good game of Fasttrack (“He cheated” as she would always say!).
