AMBOY — Donald S. Donoho Jr., 83, of Amboy, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2017, at Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center. He was born April 25, 1934, in Amboy, the son of Donald S. and Helen I. (Smith) Donoho.

He had worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Ladd Construction for many years prior to his retirement in 1996. He was also a lifelong farmer in the Amboy area.

Don was a Veteran of the Navy.

He was a member of the Mendota Elks Lodge.

Don married Marilyn Darlene McCardle at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon on Feb. 22, 1958. She preceded him in death June 27, 2010. He was also preceded in death by a son David, and a sister Linda Spotts.

Survivors include his children, Donald (Shirley) Donoho, III, of Amboy, and Denise Donoho, of Amboy; four grandchildren, Lisa (Nathan) Chandler, Alicen (Jesse Morency) Etheridge, Shaina Jones, and Leigha Jones; four brothers, Gene (Rosie) Donoho, of Dixon, James (Jane) Donoho, of Minnesota, Doug Donoho, of Arlington Heights, and Greg (Pam) Donoho of Fulton; one sister, Becky (Ray) Johnson, of Amboy.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, in Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy, with Pastor Mike Donoho, officiating. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery in Lee Center with Military Graveside Rites by the Amboy American Legion. 

Visitation will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 27, in the funeral home. A memorial has been established. Condolences may be sent online at www.thejonesfh.com.
