BYRON – Cross country runners from the Big Northern Conference gathered for the conference meet in Byron on Oct. 16.
Dixon won the girls’ meet with 29 points. Mendota finished 10th with 275 points.
Competing for the Lady Trojans were Lily Linden (42nd, 23:42), Devin Wade (57th, 25:58), Gabby Brown (59th, 26:11), Bonnie Hall (60th, 26:17) and Piper Artman (61st, 26:40).
Bailee Fortney of Rock Falls was the individual champion in a time of 17:51.
Dixon’s boys also claimed the team title with 32 points. Mendota did not post a team score as it had less than five runners.
Running the race for the Trojans were Rigo Hermosillo (52nd, 19:39) and Ty Connelly (62nd, 21:33).
Dawson Smith of Rock Falls crossed the finish line first with a time of 14:56.
