PRINCETON – Debra Jean Funfsinn, 56, of Princeton passed away unexpectedly at her home on Feb. 4, 2019.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Saint Louis Catholic Church, Princeton with Father Daniel Gifford officiating, followed by a graveside service at St. Josephs Cemetery in Spring Valley. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, preceded by a rosary at 4 p.m.
Debra was born April 20, 1962 at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Carl and Cecelia (Henkel) Funfsinn.
Survivors include 12 siblings, Cathy Miklavcic of Lakeland, Fla., Joan Miller of Ransom, Richard Funfsinn of Yorkville, Sister Debrah O.S.F. of Morris, Rose Manfredini of LaSalle, Judy (Gary) Winner of Mendota, Paul Funfsinn of Peru, Mary (Dale) Finnell of East Peoria, Dale Funfsinn of Lasalle, Marty Funfsinn of Peru, Mike Funfsinn of LaSalle, and Jerry (Trina) Funfsinn of Ladd; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother in infancy, Anthony; three brothers-in-law, Jerry Miller, Gary Sparling and Tony Manfredini; and one sister-in-law, Dawn Funfsinn.
Debra was a 1980 graduate of Mendota High School and received an Associate’s degree in Computer Science from IVCC. She loved playing cards and playing her guitar, anything to do with music was truly her passion. She was an accomplished basketball player with accolades and enjoyed sitting back sipping an ice cold root beer. She volunteered at the homeless shelter as well as Tec-Teen Encounter. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed attending church retreats and spending time with her family and she loved working with children.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Masses, IV Pads, Peru, or Fr. Ted Hochstater and the TEC Program.
